Mary E. Towery, 84, of Franklin Ohio passed away July 13, 2021.

She is preceded in death by parents Raymond and Mable Cherry; spouse, Cecil Towery; sister, Louise Jennings; niece, Joy Dillon, Jeannie Holland and Jill Cox; grand nephew, Edward Lynn Tidwell.

She is survived by daughters; Janet Parish and Joan Lynch; son, Keith Towery; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Jean Walden of Ind.

Graveside services and interment were held on July 17, 2021 at Springboro, OH Cemetery.

 

Jimmy Conner

Jimmy Conner, 70, of Celina, passed away on Feb. 2, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at Upton Hay Funeral Home with James Hamilton officiating. Interment in the Fitzgerald Cemetery-Hamilton Addition.

He was born Sept. 14, 1951 in Clay County. He worked in a clothing factory. He enjoyed collecting many things his favorites were stamps, coins and cosmic books. He enjoyed being outside walking around.

He was preceded in death by: parents; Claude Hubert and Evelyn Randall (Ledbetter) Conner.

Surviving relatives include: brother, Roscoe Conner; sister, Judy Conner and friends and neighbors.

Pallbearers included family and friends.

Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Jerri Ann Short

Jerri Ann Short 53, of Celina, passed away Feb. 4, at the Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center. A celebration of life were held at Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Craig Ogletree, Alan West and Homer Dailey officiating.

She was born Oct. 31, 1968 in Gainesboro. She worked in local factories including Osh’ Kosh, Active Network and V&F Transformers. Some of her favorite things to do was going to the lake and eating. She was also known as the “Life of the Party”.

She was preceded in death by: mother, Mary Katherine Short; brother, Joe Bill Short as well as several aunts and uncles.

Surviving relatives include: spouse, David (Easy) Ball; uncle, Randall Short; aunts, Phyllis Short and Carolyn Short; nephew, Joseph Short; Special friends, Sandy Daniels, Lisa Walker, Beverly Stewart, Melissa Roach, Patricia Ervin, Mike and Wanda Leeper and all the friends in Knoxville; godchildren, Wesley and Emma Walker as a host of friends and neighbors.

Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Walter Sharp Ellis

Walter Sharp Ellis died 1/28/2022 at home in Allons. He was born in Memphis, TN in 1942 to Ernest R. Ellis and Katherine Sharp Ellis. In addition to his parents Walt was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Tony and Barry, 2 sister, Patricia and China and daughter in law, Gina. He is survived by his wife Helen and his son Scott and wife Lori of Allons, son Kevin of GA, son Sean and wife Suzie of GA., and brother Daryl of S.C. Walt is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He served 4 years in the navy and 3.5 years as a merchant mariner.

His working years in Atlanta included his own busoness of designing, manufacturing and installing electrical panels in Power plants and Pulp and Paper mills throughout the southeast.

He has left his family an example of courage, honesty and faithfulness to emulate.He was a good son, husband, father and brother with an ever present sense of humor. He lives on in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.

 

Estelle Short

Estelle Short 91, of Lafayette, passed away Feb. 9, at the Macon Community Hospital. Funeral Services were held Feb. 11 at Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Bro. Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed in the Pitcock Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 22, 1930 in Moss. She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ. She loved her family very much.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Guy and Mae (Smith)White; brother, Eugene White and sister, Peggy Craighead.

Surviving relatives include: husband, James Willas Short; brother, Billy Joe Short; sister, Virginia Short (Charles); nieces and nephews, Lee Ann Wilbur (Scott), Leah Cavanagh (Paul), Debbie Boone (Luther), Dwayne Craighead (Francis), Nathan White (Debbie), Michael White (Annie), Sandy Parker (Paul). A host of great nieces, nephews, family and friends survive.

Pallbearers: Nathan White, Michael White, Paul Cavanagh, Scott Wilbur, Paul Parker and Dwayne Craighead.

Honorary Pallbearers: Luther Boone, Daniel Collins and Scotty Reagan.

Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Clifford Lee Neel

Clifford Lee Neel, 65, of Celina, passed away Feb. 4, at his residence. The family has chosen cremation at his request. No services are planned.

He was July 3, 1956 in Mountain Home, Ark. He served in the United States Army and worked as a general carpenter.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Edward W. and Virginia (Cantrell) Neel.

Surviving relatives include: girlfriend, Julie Bewley; sons, Tony Neel and his wife Tiffany, Michael Neel and his wife Stacy; 3 grandsons; brothers, Ed Neel, Scottie Neel and Chris Neel; sisters, Carolyn Currie, Barbara Keller and Virgina Neel Lacroix. A host of family and friends.

Halls Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
