James Doyle Rhoton
James Doyle Rhoton, age 72, of Moss, passed away from this life on Sept. 19 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Sept. 24 in the chapel of Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating,
He worked for Morehead and several other jobs before starting work for Crotty Corporation, where he worked for 41 years. He was also a lifelong farmer on his family farm in the Midway Community. Working with his son and grandsons was the joy of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ivo (Denton) Rhoton; one son, Jonathan Marty Burks; two brothers, Charles Junior Rhoton and Mitchell Rhoton.
He is survived by his wife, Robbie Rhoton; one son Joseph (Holly) Burks; two grandsons, Wyatt and Andrew Burks; five granddaughters, Faith, Rachel, Eve, Remington and Ember Burks; three sisters, Eva Joyce Rhoton, Emma Jean Davis, Doyce (Larry) Lawson; two brothers, Royce (Thelma) Rhoton, Wayne (Linda) Rhoton; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that will mourn his passing. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Wyatt Burks, Andrew Burks, Russell Collins, Jackie Trent, James Martin Strong, James Hamilton and Steve Holt all served as pallbearers.
John “Runt” Scott
John H. “Runt” Scott, age 61, of Celina, passed away from this life on Sept. 20 at the Cookeville Regional Hospital. The family chose cremation upon his request.
He was born in Burkesville, Ky. on June 24, 1960. He was a handyman who done painting and odd jobs around for people. He loved his family and friends very much and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Scott; two brothers, Robert Scott and Lonnie Wayne Scott.
He is survived by his mother, Anna Faye Scott; two daughters, Tiffany Montgomery and Mary Copass; one brother, Donnie Scott; his significant other, Wilma Kaufer; one step-son, Frankie Mace; one step daughter, Jennifer Tidwell; eight grandchildren; two special nieces, Charlotte Thompson and Natasha Scott. A host of family and friends also survive.
Hall Funeral Home of Celina was in charge of arrangements.
Margaret Juanita Hunter VanEssen
Margaret Juanita Hunter VanEssen, age 92, of Celina passed away from natural causes at Celina Health and Rehabilitation on Sept. 17. In honor of her wishes, there was no funeral services.
She was born in Bloomington Springs, Putnam Co. to the late Alex and Mintie Jane (Mathis) Hunter. While she was in Celina, she was very active in many organizations and a longstanding member of the United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. VanEssen; her only son, Darrell (Pete) Davis, a daughter (infant) Patty Ann; and only grandchild (infant), Veronica Leah.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and George Slater of Algonac, Saint Clair Co., Michigan, multiple nieces and nephews and many other extended family members.
Hall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Wayne Dulworth, age 37, of Moss, passed away from this life on Sept. 21 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Dulworth were held on Sept. 25 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Celina. Bro. Tim White officiated the service.
He was born in Livingston. He was a sawmill worker for many years. He loved his wife and children very much and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathy (Scott) Dulworth.
He is survived by his wife, Brandi Dulworth; one daughter, Katie Dulworth; two sons, Thomas N. Dulworth and Isiah Dulworth; parents, Thomas and Melissa Dulworth; two sisters, Michelle (Timmy Keen) Dulworth, Cheyenne Dulworth; father and mother in-law, Eddie and Diana Blakely. A host of family and friends also survive.
