Mr. Chester Eugene Boles, age 82, of Hilham, TN, passed away on Sept. 1 at his residence. Funeral Services held Sept. 5 in the chapel of Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Internment followed in the Turkeytown Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were Matthews Cyphers, Andrew Boles, Kenzie Adams, Ricky Boles, Josh Boles, and Quentin Thompson.
He was born July 25, 1939 in Clay County. He was a butcher by trade for most of his life, but his real passion was his farm. In retirement, he spent most of his time tending to his cattle and other animals. He took great pride in his cattle farm. He loved and took great pride in all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You always got ice cream money when you went to visit Pa Chester.
He was preceded in death by parents, Comer and Ella (Short) Boles; daughters, Sandra Boles Adams and Lisa Boles; son-in-law, Larry Cyphers; brothers, Dewy Short, Tony Short, Archie Boles and Clifford Boles; and sisters, Kotene Boles, Geneva Boles Edwards, Alpha Boles and Beulah Boles Lee.
He is survived by spouse, Myrtle “Tootsie” Boles; sons, Ralph, Jimmy (Donetta), Jackie (Amanda) and Freddie (Vanessa) Boles; daughter, Tammie Cyphers; grandchildren, Delvon (John) Stults, Melissa (Jeremy) Thompson, Kendra Pryor, Josh Boles, Megen (Corey) Phillips, Matthew (Tiffany) Cyphers, Amy (Tommy) Cherry, Rachel (Wesley) Stafford, Kenzie Adams, Brittany Boles, Ricky Boles, Jessie Boles, Anthony Boles, Andrew (Magin) Boles and Aaron Boles; great-grandchildren, Quentin, Zack Thompson, Malaki Myers, Sebastian Pryor, JC, Dawson, Wilder Stults, Addison, Wyatt Cyphers, Malinda Brewer, Alexander Hayes, Braxton, Grady Cherry, Emeree, Elleree Stafford and a host of friends and neighbors.
