Eldridge Retiring As Director Of Schools

Clay County Director of Schools Matt Eldridge is retiring from his position after seven years as the county’s top educator.

Eldridge announced his decision at the Board of Education meeting Thursday. He said his retirement would take effect on Dec. 31.

I’ve served 35-plus years in education in five school districts,” Eldridge said. “My final seven in Clay County have been more enjoyable than I could have asked for.”
