George Danny Gentry

George Danny Gentry, 68, of the Hermitage Springs community, passed away June 25 at the Macon Community Hospital. Funeral services were held June 27 from the chapel of Anderson & Sons Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Roy Henson and Rick Mosley officiating. Interment followed in the Browning Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mason Chaffin, Donald Chaffin, Michael King, Kris Strong, Kevin Reece, Ryan Warnack and D.J. Chaffin.

He was born Nov. 26, 1952 in Clay County. He was self-employed as a plumber and electrician for 40 years and a member of the Leonard Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, George and Louvenia Rush Gentry; brother, Ercil Gentry; and brother in law, Junior Chaffin.

Surviving relatives include: companion, Lucille Carlisle of the Hermitage Springs community; sisters and brothers in law, Geraldine and Jeff Jones of Mt. Juliet, Gayle and Rick Mosley of White House, Veachel and Charles King, Sheila Rouse, all of the Hermitage Springs community and Lesia and Keith Key of Brush Creek; and sister in law, Sandra Gentry of Moss.


John Tidwell

John “Jeff” Tidwell, 66, of Hilham, passed away June 25 at Bethesda Health Care Center. Funeral services were held June 27 in the chapel of The Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Eric Dillon officiating. Interment followed in the Turkeytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Winton, Lonnie, Kevin, Wayne, Tim and Earl.

He was born June 13, 1955 in Hilham. He was self-employed rebuilding and working on vehicles. He was a body repair man in his own shop.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Noah and Martha (Boles) Tidwell.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Vicky Tidwell; granddaughter, Hailey Tidwell; brothers, Winton, Clark, Junior and John; sisters, Viola, Sammye and Lucy; and a host of friends and neighbors.
