Army Corps Of Engineers Open Dale Hollow Dam Flood Gates After Excessive Rainfall

Last Tuesday the Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District opened the spillway gates of the Dale Hollow Dam to recover storage in the reservoir after the previous weekend’s excessive rainfall. Residents who lived along the Obey River were cautioned of rising water levels and possible flooding. Pictured above is flooding at Moody Boat Ramp. This photograph was taken shortly after the Army Corps of Engineers opened the flood gates Tuesday. The boat ramp was inaccessible.
