Jimmy Lewis Philpott
Jimmy Lewis Philpott, 80, of Celina, passed away March 1 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held March 6 in the chapel of the Upton-Hay Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Freehill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Natalie Boone, Jason Emerton, Kyle Haney, Chris Hayes, Scottie Christian and Jaylen Haffey.
He was born Dec. 29, 1940 in Celina. He was an active member in the Freehill Church of Christ. He had many hobbies, loved to buy and trade vehicles, and he was a socializer. He could out talk any woman in the room and had an interest in social media. He only held three jobs in his 80 years. He worked at the boat dock in Pickett County, the hospital in Celina, but made his career in EMS.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Jesse Graves and Esterlene Philpott; sister, Carolyn Bailey; and brothers, Jesse Graves Jr. and Carl Philpott Sr.
Surviving relatives include: wife, Georgia Philpott; daughter, Shirley (Carlie) Whitlow; brothers, Tony Graves, Freddy Moody and Perry Graves; sisters, Lela Campbell, Bertie Hurdle and Melanie Kirk; and a host of nieces, nephews, special daughters, grandchildren, many friends and neighbors.
Eddie R. Smith
Eddie R. Smith, 67, of Celina, passed away Feb. 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held March 6 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Bro. Paul Stringer officiating. Interment followed in the McDonald Cemetery located in the Baptist Ridge Community.
He was born April 26, 1953 in Celina. He was a member of the Waypoint Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by: parents, James M. and Christine (Roach) Smith; and son, Danny R. Smith.
Surviving relatives include: wife, Darlene Smith; granddaughter, Tesia Smith; great-grandson, Zayden Smith; brothers, Wayne Smith and wife, Reba, Bobby Smith and wife, Judy and Phillip Smith and wife Diana; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Cathy Ann Bovinet
Cathy Ann Bovinet, 62, of Celina, passed away Feb. 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held March 2 in the chapel of the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenneth Beaty officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Cemetery. Friends and family served as pallbearers.
She was born Jan. 2, 1959 in Chicago. She worked many jobs in different capacities throughout her life, but will be most remembered by her various restaurant jobs. She had a love for playing cards and games. She enjoyed music and cooking.
She was preceded in death by: brother, Terry Joe Bovinet; and grandson, Kevin Cody White.
Surviving relatives include: longtime companion, Ricky Reecer; sons, Mickey Hess, Jr., and Ryan Bovinet; daughters, Mandy White, Laura (Phillip Smith Jr.) and Casey (Jody) Warren; brothers, Ricky Bovinet and Randy (Diane) Bovinet; sisters, Lyn and Jackie Bovinet and Deb (Felix) Vanner; grandchildren; Justin Key, Makenzie White, Taylor and Tamara Smith, Hunter Daniels, Gracie and Ellie Warren and Raylan Bovinet; great-grandchildren, Lance and Emma Key; special caregiver, Geraldine Short; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Anna Ruth Locke
Anna Ruth Locke, 73, of Nashville, formerly of Celina, passed away Feb. 27 at Southern Hills Tri-Star Medical Center. Graveside services were held March 1 at the Fitzgerald Cemetery with Alan West officiating. Friends and family served as pallbearers.
She was born Nov. 15, 1947 in Celina. She worked in the school system, working in many different capacities as a teacher and school administrator. She enjoyed teaching. In later years, she enjoyed communication by means of text messages.
She was preceded in death by: parents, William B. Napier, Jr. and Sarah Lee (Palmore) Napier; spouse, Joe B. Locke; and brother, Mark Napier.
Surviving relatives include: son, Joey Locke; special cousins, Betsy Holtam and James Hamilton; nephew, Skylar Napier; and a host of friends and neighbors.
