The Bulldog basketball teams of Clay County High School took the court to face Red Boiling Springs High School (RBS) on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
The Clay County Lady Bulldogs won against the Lady Bulldogs 56-44. Leading in score for the Bulldogs was Katie Arms with 20 points.
Scoring for the girls against Red Boiling Springs were: Bella Ashlock with eight, Eliza Jenkins with 16, Rachel Copass with three, Halie Buford with three, Briley Burchett with three and Abby Head with three.
“It was a hard fought win against a big rival. RBS always plays hard so we have to match their effort. Good contributions from several people,” Coach Matt Walker said.
The Clay County Bulldogs took on the Red Boling Springs Bulldogs in a district match up.
At the end of the first quarter the score was 20-3 Clay County.
It was clear from the start that both teams were playing with a lot of heart and putting everything they had out there on the court. But the Bulldogs shots were falling and RBS couldn’t buy a basket.
