Gregory Thompson

Gregory Thompson, 64, of Celina, passed away Sept. 9 at his residence. Graveside services were held Sept. 11 at the Thompson Cemetery with Willie Kerr officiating. Active pallbearers were Dylan Keen, Stacy Stephens, John Webb, Blake Thompson, Tim Reagan and Cole Webb.

He worked for a construction company, where he labored as part of the demolition crew. Some of his hobbies included fishing and hunting in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Lester Thompson and Lorene (Tinsley) Thompson; and brother, Chester Olin Thompson.

Surviving relatives include: ex-wife and caregiver, Kathy (Stacy) Thompson of Celina; son, Lester Harold of Cleveland; brother, Joe Wiley Thompson and wife, Gale of Celina; sisters, LueAnnie Stephens and husband, Georgie, of Indianapolis, Ind., Wilma Joyce Webb of Indianapolis, Ind. and Linda Downey and husband, Don of Cookeville; and many nieces, nephews and many neighbors and friends.

Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Roy Brown

Roy Brown, 74, of Moss, passed away Sept. 11 at his residence. Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Dale Strong officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jeff Bailey, Jeff Eads, Curtis Stone, Joe Finley, Jason Anderson and Donnie Baumgard. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Vivian and Herschel Bilbrey.

He was born May 25, 1946 in Clay County. He was drafted into the Army in 1965, where he worked on helicopters. He had many talents. He worked on the railroad in Indiana, attended lineman school and worked for NES for nine years. He became co-owner of Twin States Tn/Ky Utility. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and in his later years he took up golfing. He was a faithful member of the Pine Hill Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Jesse and Minnie (Welch) Brown; brothers, Wayne, better know as Tiny, Clint, and two infant babies; and sisters, Elise Bowe and Juanita Cherry.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Shirley (Brady) Brown; daughters, Annette (Jeff) Bailey, Melanie (Jeff) Eads and Kelly (Curtis) Stone; grandchildren, Abby, Matt, Jake, Cole and Ella; sister, JoAnna (Herman) Rhoton; and a host of friends and neighbors.

Sherry Ann Green

Sherry Ann Green, 56, of Celina, passed away Sept. 10 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services were held Sept. 14 from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Dr. Kenneth Beaty officiating. Interment followed in the Ashlock Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randell Eads, Brandon Grogan, Daniel Boles, Ryan Shoopman, Eggie Jenning and Tanner Harvey. Honorary pallbearers were Chase Emerson, Mike Thompson and Mark Daniels.

She was born Nov. 11, 1963 in Livingston. She was a member of the Ashlock Church of Christ and a friend to everyone.

She was preceded in death by: father, Jerry Thompson.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Gary Green; mother, Judy Shelley; brother, Jimmy Thompson; sister, Tina Collins; and a host of family and friends.

 

Waymon Moore

Waymon Moore, 86, of Celina, passed away Sept. 15 at Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Jerrmi Booth and Ed White officiating. Interment followed in the Hamilton Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Mikey Moore, Seth Eads, Glynn Scott, Rob Eads, John Taylor and Heath Moore.

He was born May 4, 1934 in Celina. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for eight years. He drove a truck for Averitt. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all mowing his yard. He found great pleasure in spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and was a member of the Shanky Branch Church of God.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Lawrence and Beulah (Pennington) Moore; brothers, Roscoe, Cullom, Marcom and Raymon; and sister, Ellen Moore.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Reba (White) Moore; daughter, Angie (Rob) Eads of Moss; sons, Mike (Loretta) Moore of Celina and David (Patti) Moore of Algood; grandchildren, Mikey Moore, Jaylen Cunningham, Megan Moore, Brandi Taylor, Heath Moore and Seth Eads; great-grandchildren, Kylee Moore, Marlee Sircy, Van Moore, Oakley Pruitt, Kesliegh Moore and Knox Taylor; sisters, Georgia (Jack) Collier of Decatur and Joyce (Fred) Scheerscmidt of Xenia, Ohio; special niece and nephew, Joyce (Hershel) Lacy of Celina; and a host of friends and neighbors.

Kenny Thomas

Browning

Kenny Thomas Browning, 65, of the Hermitage Springs Community in Clay County, passed away Sept. 15 at the Livingston Regional Hospital ER. Graveside services and interment with military honors were held Sept. 18 from the Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Kevin Sweezy officiating. Pallbearers were Shane Roberts, Gary Head, Neal Smith, Bobby Collins, Anthony Collins and Marty Buford.

He was born Nov. 19, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio. He worked at the former Avco in Nashville and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: father, Tom Browning; and son, Mark Browning.

Surviving relatives include: mother, Rose Wilmoth Browning; daughters, Katina Corrigan and husband, Shawn of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Brandy Browning of Whitleyville; sisters, Jackie Spatola of Louisville, Ky. and Phyllis Buford and husband, JR of the Hermitage Springs Community; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other friends and relatives.

Anderson & Son Funeral Home were charge of arrangements.
