Willard Cherry, 85, of Hendersonville, formerly of Union Hill, passed away Aug. 31 at his residence. Funeral services were held Sept. 4 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Les Chapman officiating. Interment followed in the Union Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Lance Cherry, Matthew Cherry, Chris Graves, Adam Bernheardt, Jamie Irwin and Jim Irwin.
He served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950’s through the 1960’s. He was an active member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ. He retired from the medical field as a Lab Technician. Some of his hobbies included fishing and hunting in his younger years. After retirement he was known in his community to be the handyman, fixing most things for all his neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Ezra Cherry and Emma (Ford) Cherry; and brothers, Wilburn, RV and Odell Cherry.
Surviving relatives include: sons, Willard Bill Cherry, Jr. and wife, Victoria and Jeff Cherry; grandchildren, Warren Mills Cherry and William Reese Cherry; sister, Judy Irwin and husband, Jimmy; ex-wife, Judy Cherry; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Geneva Avo (Gregory) Netherton
Geneva Avo (Gregory) Netherton, 73, of Moss, passed away Sept. 3 at Clay Co. Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Sept. 6 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Bro. Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed in the Moore Cemetery in the Moss community.
She was born July 1, 1947 in Red Boiling Springs. She was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Robert and Zelma (Condra) Gregory; and son, Robert Netherton.
Surviving relatives include: husband, Carl Netherton; daughter, Wendy Copass and husband, Pernell; grandchildren, Adam Copass and wife, Destiny and Chelsea Browning and husband, Jared; great-grandchild, Ellie Copass; great-grandbaby Browning arriving March of 2021; brother, Jerry Gregory and wife, Helen; and special friend, Faye Waddell.
Delma F. Crawford
Delma F. Crawford, 79, of Celina, passed away on Sept. 3 at Celina Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held Sept. 6 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with Bro. Roy Henson officiating. Interment followed in the Union Hill Cemetery in Moss.
She was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Moss. She attended the Church of Christ and loved her family very much.
She was preceded in death by: parents, John B. and Flora Price Jenkins.
Surviving relatives include: daughters, Sharon Bean, LeeAnn Rich and Tammy Cox; son, Danny Crawford; sister, Wanda Legg; brother, Delmes Jenkins; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
