Thomas J. Mabry

Thomas J. Mabry, 92 of Gainesboro, formerly of Clay County, passed away Aug. 18 at his residence. Graveside services were held Aug. 22 at the Mabry Cemetery with Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Active Pallbearers were Ricky Mabry, Christopher Olson, Cail Olson, Frankie Mabry, Mark Mabry, Dale Mabry, Kenny Mabry and Alex Combs. Honorary pallbearers were Aiden Combs, Layne Copeland, Curtis Olson and Braiden Olson.

He served in the United States Airforce, where he retired after 21.5 years of dedication to the country.  Thomas chose healthcare as a career, spending many days and countless hours as the founder, owner and administrator of Mabry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesboro. He was an active member of the American Legions and served as President of the Nashville District of THCA. He was an avid supporter of the Church of Christ Relief Fund among other charities. He attended the Church of Christ.

Surviving relatives include son, Thomas J. Mabry, III; daughters, Kathleen M. Graves and husband, Jerry of Tompkinsville, Ky. and Carolyn J. Olson of Cookeville; grandchildren, Abbie Copeland and husband, Josh, Leneigh Cunningham and husband, Justin, Christina Arnold, Cail Olson and wife, Amy, Christopher Olson and wife, Rebekah, Thomas J. Mabry IV and Frankie Mabry; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Randall Strong

Randall Strong, 62, of Moss, passed away July 28 at his residence. Graveside services were held Aug. 1 at the Macedonia Cemetery with Randal Strong, Jr. officiating.

He was born Aug. 8, 1957 in Moss. He worked the majority of his adult life driving a truck for Buford Trucking. He had a love for collecting knives and made that a favorite hobby over the years.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Roy and Geraldine (Johnson) Strong; and sisters, Sharon Kay Bean and Eva Rene Cherry.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Connie Strong; sons, Matthew and Lacey Davis Strong and Daniel and wife, Lisandra, of Moss; grandchildren, Natalya Strong and Waylon Strong; as well as many other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jill Marie Ilene Molloy

Jill Marie Ilene Molloy, 58, of Celina, passed away Aug. 19. Services were held in the Molloy Family plot in Magee, MS. Burial followed in Oak Grove, Miss. on Aug. 29.

She was born April 18, 1962 in Michigan. She married Mark Molloy in 1986. She loved her Sugar Island, Mich. home, where it was well known she never said “No” to any friend or family in need. The family meals she prepared will always be treasured memories. Her heart was always with her precious grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Mark Molloy; son, Sean (Cassandra) Molloy; grandchildren, Rodney Molloy and Alexis Zimmer; foster mom, Waneta Marie Newton; foster brother, Jon Kirk; special niece, Miley Kirk; nephews, Justin and Jonathan Kirk, all of Celina; Aunt Dee Rosenbum and family, and many friends.
