Commissioners Get Pay Increase

Be it remembered that the Clay County Commission met in a Regular Session on Monday Evening, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clay County Government Complex.  Present as Chairman was Dale Reagan.  Present as County Clerk was Donna R. Watson.  Present as County Commissioners were:  Michael Miller, Liz Boles, Bryan Coons, Timmie Scott, Jeff Gentry, Parrish Wright, Dorothy Forney, Timmy Boles, Jerry Rhoton, and Anthony Boles.  A majority of the Commission having been present for the opening and holding of the meeting; the meeting was held in due form of law to wit.

Chairman Reagan called the meeting to order.  Chairman Reagan asked Commissioner Coons to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.  Chairman Reagan asked Commissioner Wright to lead the in-vocational prayer.  County Clerk Donna R. Watson led the Roll Call of the Commission.

Motion was duly made by Forney and seconded by Miller to re-elect Sue Eldridge as Notary Public. All Commissioners present voted aye.

Motion was duly made by Scott and seconded by L. Boles to approve minutes of the June 22 County Commission Meeting minutes. All Commissioners present voted aye.

Motion was duly made by Wright and seconded by Forney to approve the minutes of the June 29 Planning Committee Meeting. All Commissioners present voted aye.

Resolution 1. Resolution to increase compensation paid to County Commissioners (this would increase the amount they are paid for regular and special called county commission meetings from $100.00 to $200.00; and increase the attending committee meetings from $50.00 to $100.00). Motion was duly made by L. Boles and seconded by Forney.
