PFC Garrett’s Personal Effects To Be Displayed

Some of the personal effects of a Clay County native who was killed in World War II and buried in Europe will soon be on display at the community center.

Private First Class Fred Thomas Garrett, who still has relatives living in the county, died during the second World War in France. He was buried in the Epinal Cemetery, near Dinoze, France, said Wayne Rich, service officer for local American Legion Post 18.
