Wealtha Olyne Strong
Wealtha Olyne Strong, 92, of Celina, passed away March 8 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held March 11 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed in the Moss Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Andrew Strong, Matt Barlow, James Thomas Strong, Caye Strong, Grant Strong, Gaven Beasley and Silas Key.
She was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Union Hill. Wealtha devoted her life to her children and was at her very best as she took special care of her adult children, Landy and Gaye, whose needs required her undivided attention. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, gardening and canning. She was a member of the Moss Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Willie and Flora (Denton) Armer; husband, Caye Strong; son, Landy Strong; daughter, Gaye Strong; siblings, Essie, Lassie, Myrtie, Elise, Ruby, Lovie, Jewel, Delbert and Little Sam.
Surviving relatives include: sons, Randy Caye Strong and wife, Karen of Carmel, Ind., Gary J. Strong and wife, Cynthia of Cookeville, Mark Strong and wife, Paige of Celina, Michael Strong and wife, Teresa of Moss, Tracy Strong and wife, Tricia of Celina; daughters, Faye Watson and husband, Thomas of Celina, Sherry Barlow and husband, Mike of Celina; grandchildren, Andrew Strong and wife, Cassie, Candy Carlyle and husband, Chris, Randi Barksdale, James Thomas Strong, Amber Strong, Marleigh Strong, Caye Strong, Taylor Strong, Grant Strong, Matthew Kyle Barlow and wife, Jessica, Cristi Beasley and husband, Kevin; as well as a host of neighbors and friends.
Gary Clay Poindexter
Gary Clay Poindexter, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away March 11. Funeral services were held March 16 at Singleton and Herr Mortuary and Memorial Center in Indianapolis, Ind.
He was born May 8, 1944 in Celina. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He retired from Schuster’s Block in 2007 as head of quality and safety.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Ralph and Maude Poindexter.
Surviving relatives include: wife, Nancy; sons, Tim Poindexter and Brian Poindexter (Christy); four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
