Juanita Browning

Juanita Browning, 82, of the Mt. Vernon Community, passed away Jan. 10 at the Westmoreland Care & Rehab. Funeral services were held Jan. 12 from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, with Jimmy Cook and Larry Delk officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ricky Bean, Randy Bean, Roger Bean, Rob Bean, Mickey Clements and Junior Delk.

She was born July 11, 1937 in Clay County. She was retired from the former Osh Kosh in Hermitage Springs and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Earl and Goldie Cherry Browning; and sisters, Willa Dean Browning and Geneva Delk.

Surviving relatives include: brother in law, Wilmer Lee Delk of the Mt. Vernon Community; nephew, Larry Delk and wife, Lillie of Lafayette; and several cousins.

Garry Dennis Western Sr.

Garry Dennis Western Sr., 70, of Rickman and formerly of Celina, passed away Jan. 13. Funeral services were held Jan. 16 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Stephen Moore officiating. Interment followed in the Fitzgerald Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Cody Cross, Jeffery Western, Jimmie Western, John Scott, Kelly Scott and Lee Baxter.

He was born Jan. 17, 1949 in Jackson County. Most of his adult life he spent as a Production Control Supervisor for Hevi-Duty Equipment. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He relished time spent playing his guitar, fishing, learning all he could about history and watching old westerns. He faithfully attended the Algood Church of God.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Porter and Sarah (Dennis) Western; and brother, Jimmie Western.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Martha, of Rickman; sons, Garry Western Jr. better known as “GJ” and wife, Misty, of Carthage and Philip Western of Rickman; daughters, Amanda Western-Watson of Rickman and Kimberly Baxter and husband, Lee of Livingston; grandchildren, Candace, Nathan, Matthew, Tiara, Ethan, Anatasia and Lexie; great grandchildren, Carson, Carter, Colton, Haleigh and Eliza; as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
