John Nolan Copeland
John Nolan Copeland, 16, of Celina passed away Dec. 14. Funeral services were held Dec. 19 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland, Craig Ogletree and Eric Copas officiating. Interment followed in the Copeland Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers were the Clay County High School Football Team. Honorary pallbearers were the Clay County Class of 2021.
He was born May 8, 2003 in Cookeville. He was a Junior at Clay County High School where he maintained a reputation for being the life of the party. He had a passion for life. One of his greatest loves was football and while wearing the number 16, he had a successful football career. He was a hard worker and shared in the responsibilities of his family’s business. He was a member of the Beech Bethany Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include: parents, Randy and Charlotte Copeland of Celina; brother, Matt Copeland and wife, Ashley and their children, Mason, Turner and Baylor, all of Celina; sister, Olivia Clements and husband, Jake of Celina; nurturer and provider of unconditional love and guidance, Joyce Roach of Celina; grandparents, Charlie and Vickie Copeland of Celina; young ladies who he held forever in his heart, Rachel Copas and Taegan Atchley; his closest friends, Dalton Goad, Jacob Burnette, Collin Dodson, Seth Eads, Pez Davis, Allen Scott and his brotherly friends that will remain together as family forever, Owen Browning, Will Ogletree and Cale McBride.
