Chloe Nell Moore

Chloe Nell Moore, 82, of Celina passed away Aug. 31 at her home. Funeral services were held Sept. 2 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Donnie Smith and Chris Vinson officiating. Interment followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Joshua Sweezy, Matthew Ledbetter, Carl Philpott, Jr., Michael Sweezy, Jonathon Leonard, Ryan Hobson and Rickey Combs. Honorary pallbearers were: Mark Carpenter and Frankie Carpenter.

She was born Jan. 23, 1937 in Moss. Her life’s career was as a restaurant owner. Her greatest pleasure was received while spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She possessed a vibrant and contagious laugh and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Johnie and Lola Dale (Yates) Anderson; sister, Patricia Padgett; and brother Homer Anderson.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Clyde, best known as Pee Wee, Moore of Celina; daughters, Anita Hobson of Indianapolis, Ind., Angie McElroy of Cookeville and Jenny Workman of Celina; grandchildren, Stephanie Curran, Brandi Steinmetz, Ryan Hobson, Joshua Sweezy and Matthew Ledbetter; great-grandchildren, Logan Curran and Ethan Curran; sister, Sue Strong of Moss; and other family, friends and neighbors.

Virginia “Joy” Atchley

Virginia “Joy” Atchley, 87, of Celina passed away Aug. 30 at the Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Sept. 1 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Eric Copass and Rick Denton officiating. Interment followed in the Hamilton Addition of the Fitzgerald Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Rick Denton, Mark Ashlock, Todd Upton, Andy Loftis, Robert Gribble, Jimmy Robert Loftis, Tommy Allen and Mark Gregory. Honorary pallbearers were: Paul Haley, Barry Gregory, James Eads and David Allen.

She was born Nov. 29, 1931 in Jackson County. She was a cosmetologist who enjoyed sharing her latent of making people beautiful and worked in a variety of locations until her health prevented otherwise. Reading was a happy pastime, however, her greatest pleasure was received while spending time with her beloved granddaughters. She was a faithful member of Celina First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Green Daniel and Mary (Procter) Allen.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Billy Atchley; daughter, Lori Arms and husband, Jerry; granddaughters, Kylee Rae Arms and Katie Joy Arms, all of Celina; sisters, Estelle Gregory of Nashville and Mary Robles Reider of Georgia; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
