Evelyn Lee Brown
Evelyn Lee Brown, 81 of Moss, passed away June 26 at the Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center. A Celebration of Life was held June 29 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kandi Brown officiating. Interment followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers included: Tim Scott, James Martin Strong, Eric Strong, Scottie Smith, Kassie Fox and Scout McLerran.
She was born June 13, 1938 in Clay County. She was first a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked in the manufacturing industry. She cherished her family, food and the telephone. She loved flowers and favoured pink flowers.
She was preceded in death by parents, Mose and Docia (Reecer) Strong; brothers, Willie Andrew (Billy) Strong, Willie Martin Strong and John Strong; and sister, Visha Goolsby.
Surviving relatives include: husband, James T. Brown of Moss; daughter, Kandi Brown and husband, Jock McLerran of Friendsville, TN; granddaughter, Isabella Scout McLerran of Buffalo, NY; brothers, Phillip Strong and wife, Sue, Paul Strong, Malcolm Strong and wife, Wanda and Junior B. Strong and wife, Emma, all of Moss; sister, Janie Smith, of Moss; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Carlos Paul Smith
Carlos Paul Smith, 78, of Moss, passed away June 28 at St. Thomas West Hospital. Funeral services were held July 1 at Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Elijah Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Rondall Wilkerson, Michael Wilkerson, Dusty Wilkerson, Richard Smith, Cotton Smith and Logan Wilkerson.
He was born July 1, 1940, in Tompkinsville, Ky. He worked for Royal Oil Company for over 30 years. He found great joy in the love of his immediate and extended family, enjoyed family gatherings and taking pictures. He was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by parents, Cecil and Eurene (Conkin) Smith.
Surviving relatives include: sister, Berlena Cook of Lebanon; nephews, Randal Wilkerson and wife, Amanda Wilkerson and Michael Wilkerson; nieces, Cindy Northern and husband, Rick and Sandra Hemmon and husband, Gary; and many friends.
Margaret Ann Gray
Margaret Ann Gray, 69, of Livingston passed away June 29 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 2 at Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Dale Crossman officiating. Interment followed in the Hamilton Addition of the Fitzgerald Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Greg Gray, Eric Gray, Mica Badger, Jake Clemets, Matthew Copeland and John Copeland.
She was born Sept. 7, 1949 in Jackson County. She was a homemaker who found great pleasure in gardening. She was first a mother, grandmother, sister and friend and had been baptized into the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by parents, Bill and Allie Ruth (Lynn) Warden.
Surviving relatives include: sons, Randy Copeland and wife, Charlotte of Celina and Greg Gray and wife, Kim of Livingston; grandchildren, Matthew Copeland and wife, Ashley, Olivia Clements and husband, Jake, John Copeland, Justin Gray and Eric Gray; six great grandchildren; brother, Billy Harold Warden and wife, Verneal of Celina; sisters, Louise Cox and husband, Bobby of Old Hickory and Kathy Badger and husband, Marvin of Crossville; sister in law, Lorene Warden; special nephew, Mica Badger; and many family members and friends.
Lois Donaldson Crawford
Lois Donaldson Crawford, 84, of Celina passed away July 3 at her home. Graveside services were held July 5 at the McColgan Cemetery with Caleb Burnette officiating. Active pallbearers were: Joey Eads, Jonathan Crawford, Michael Donaldson, Jonathon West, Russell West and Michael Coop. Kevin Donaldson and Bill Donaldson were honorary pallbearers.
She was born Oct. 23, 1934 in Pinehill. She was first a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She spent many years as a physical therapist but her adult career was that of a business owner. She was a member of the Celina Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by parents, Vanus and Lillie (Brown) Eads.
Surviving relatives include: husband, Tullus B. Crawford of Celina; sons, Jed Donaldson and wife, Diana of Celina and Jonathan Crawford and wife, Neesha of Springsboro, Ohio; daughters, Sheree Short Fox of Celina and Jacqueline Jones and husband, Michael of Paducah, Ky; grandchildren, Michael Donaldson, Adam Strong, Madeline O’Leary, Crawford Jones, Isaac Crawford and Deacon Crawford; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Strong, Alyssa Strong, Lillyan Strong and Gunner Strong; niece, Shana Eads; nephew, Joey Eads and wife Angie; son in law, Daniel Geissler; she was also survived by Alan West, who she considered a son and his family, his wife, Deborah, his children, John West, Leslie Cosgrove and Russell West and their families; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
