Edward Aaron Cahill
Edward Aaron Cahill, 55, of Peterburg, Ind., passed away May 24 at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind. Funeral services were held May 30 at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs with Willie Sawyers and John Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Lucinda Cemetery in Russell Springs. Pallbearers were: Steve Cahill, Alex Cahill, Brian Cahill, Tom Cahill, Luke Cahill, Rick Dwyer, Rob Dwyer and Allan Prior.
He was born July 22, 1963 in Louisville, Ky. As a journalist, he had a passion for the newspaper business and sports. He was the Sports Editor for The Press-Dispatch in Petersburg, Ind. Previous he had been the Managing Editor of the Macon County Chronicle in Lafayette and The Citizen-Statesman in Celina, plus many more. He won numerous journalism awards. He was an avid Civil War Historian and Reseacher.
Surviving relatives include: daughter, Sarah Abigail Hope Cahill of Lexington; her brother, Eric Lawson of Lexington; mother, Mary Alicia Cahill of Brooks, Ky.; siblings, Tom Cahill and wife, Sara of Brooks, Ky., Steve and wife, Cheryl of Fairdale, Ky., Darlene Bolin and husband, Danny T. of Bardstown and Brian and wife, Sara of Louisville; former wife, Michelle Russell Barger of Somerset; nephews and nieces, Austin, Chandler, Luke, Matthew, Stephen, Alex, Jasmine, Brently, Susan, Ashley, Brianna, Wyatt and Brayden; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Nora Dean Marshall
Nora Dean Marshall, 68, of Moss, passed away June 4 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Funeral service were held June 7 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Cricket Strong and Dr. Tony Carter officiating. Interment followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: David Marshall, Danny Marshall, Justin Marshall, Tony Scott, Jeff Scott, Greg Gee, John Austin and Josh Sweezy.
She was born Oct. 29, 1950 in Clay County. She worked in the manufacturing industry, with Osh Kosh and Stitches. She enjoyed being homemaker to her children and grandchildren who she adored. She will be remembered most for her loving and loyal nature. She attended the Tompkinsville First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Haskell and Tippy (McAlpin) Reecer; and husband, Danny Lee Marshal.
Surviving relatives include: sons, Danny Lee Marshall, Jr., and wife, Christen of Frisco, Texas and David Hayes Marshall of Moss; grandchildren, Danielle Marshall, Andrew Marshall, Justin Hayes Marshall and Annalee Piper Marshall; sister, Ruth (McAlpin) Gee of Indianapolis, IN, special nephew, Mike Gee and wife, Ruby; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bonnie Jo Hay
Bonnie Jo Hay, 71, of Celina, passed away June 5 at her residence. Memorial services were held June 15 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Willie Kerr officiating and family and friends sharing reflections and sentiments.
She was born March 1, 1948, in Peytonsburg, KY. She was a fun-loving and devoted, wife, mom, mimi, sister and friend. She spent her adult career in several different positions within the healthcare field but found her passion as a Pharmacy Technician at Cumberland River Hospital which she later retired.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ivory Dean and Luzell (Dulworth) Watson; brothers, Phillip Bruce Watson and Eddie Paul Watson; and niece, Julie Kelly.
Surviving relatives include: husband, Danny Davis, of Celina; daughter, Monica Weir and husband, Rob of Celina; grandchildren, Austa Raye Weir and Caleb Weir of Celina; brother, Jim Crit Watson and wife, Cathy of Burkesville; sisters, Betty Kerr and husband, Willie of Celina and Bobbie Masters and husband, Kenneth of Cookeville; nieces, Sandra Kerr, Robin Stephens, Sherry Masters-Rodgers and Nikki Taylor; nephews, Eddie Wayne Watson, Chris Watson and Phil Watson; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Priscilla Herrmann, 88, of Celina passed away June 4 at Mabry Rehabilitation Center in Gainesboro.
She was born March 5, 1931 in Troy, Ohio. She spent the majority of her adult life being homemaker to her children and grandchildren who she adored. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded by parents, Ellis and Marie Mahan.
Surviving relatives include: husband, Cyrill Herrmann of Celina; sons, John Herrmann of Celina and James Herrmann of East, TN; grandchildren, Michael Herrmann, Heidi Fuller, Paulina Bennett, J.P. Herrmann, Chrissie Stoller and Samantha Bergman; and great grandchildren, Isabella Bennett, Blakely Bennett, Mya Fuller, Gus Stoller, Henry Stoller and Josie Herrmann.
Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Kimberly McDonald, 53, of Clark Range formerly of Celina, passed away June 8. Funeral services were held June 12 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed in the Fitzgerald Cemetery. Military Honors were performed by the Overton County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers were: Cory Stephens, Mike Williams, James Harper, Steve Massengille, Kelvin Massengille and Gary Stephens.
She was born Nov. 19, 1965 in Tompkinsville, KY. She was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and spent her adult career as a civilian in clerical positions. She attended the Cave Springs Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jerls Spivey and Mary Ruth Massingille-Mays; and brother, Keith Spivey.
Surviving relatives include: son, Nicholas McDonald and wife, Melissa of Clark Range; grandchildren, Brayden, Hunter, Haley, Carley and Weston McDonald; brother, David Spivey of Celina; sisters, Crys Stephens and husband, Gary of Celina and Donna Nevans and husband, Gary of Moss; as well as a host of other family and friends.
