Two Different Fires In One Week’s Span

Pictured to the right the Baptist Ridge VFD, Celina VFD and East 52 VFD responded to a reported house on fire on April 4, at 3701 Baptist Ridge Road. On arrival they found the siding on the back of the trailer to be on fire and about a half acre of grass, leaves and brush on fire. Volunteers from Baptist Ridge and Celina used a fire hose to extinguish the burning siding and to reach the flaming brush.

Hand tools called fire rakes and flappers were used to stop the ground fire, made difficult by the extremely steep hill behind the home. Tennessee Forestry was also on scene using a leaf blower. The occupant of the home may be issued a citation by forestry for not having a burn permit required from October 1st to the end of May.
