Ina Ruth Capps
Ina Ruth Capps, 70 of Powell and formerly of Celina, passed away on Jan. 13 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Funeral services were held on January 16 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Rick Denton officiating. Interment followed in the Fitzgerald Cemetery. J.B. Killmon, Ronnie Burnette, Eric Gentry, Henry Behr, Steven Gentry, Taylor Key and Shawn Burnette served as active pallbearers.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1948 in Celina. She is remembered as a kind, honest woman who loved her family and friends. She was a dedicated employee of Osh Kosh B’Gosh for many years. She found her greatest pleasure in being a devoted mother to Holly Lawson and grandmother to Brynn Lawson.
She was preceded in death by parents, J.P. and Clara Jewell (Gentry) Hayes; sister, Barbara Strong; and brother, Thomas Hayes.
Surviving relatives include daughter, Holly Lawson of Knoxville; sister, Marian Overstreet McKay and husband, Herb of Celina; granddaughter, Madeline “Brynn” Lawson of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
