Roy Munn Johnson
Roy Munn Johnson, 64 of Moss, passed away on Nov. 18 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. Funeral Services were held on Nov. 21 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Donald Bryant officiating. Interment followed in the Ray Williams Cemetery. James ‘Tater’ Johnson, Andrew Garrett, Bobby ‘Cobb’ Smith, Jimmy Goad, David Goad and Junior ‘Charlie’ Goad served as active pallbearers.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1954 in Clay County. He was a man of many talents. His latest job before retirement was with Heavy Duty Equipment. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was well known for his honesty and kindness.
He was preceded in death by parents, George Spencer, best known as ‘Penny’ and Nancy Ollie Belle (Key) Johnson; brothers, Jody, Robert, Wayman, Billy and Hubert Johnson; and sisters, Olene Key, Ruby Beechboard, Maggie Goad, Bonnie Key and Betsy Wilson.
Surviving relatives include wife, Connie Johnson of Moss; daughters, Kimberly Head and husband, Gary of Celina and Amanda Hale and husband, Clayton of Moss; brother, Mackie Odell Johnson of Livingston and sister, Lola Johnson of Monroe; grandchildren, Andrew Garrett, Zander Hale, Lexi Head, Abby Head and Hobie Hale; great-grandchild, Nolynn Michelle Spivey; several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.
Maxie Odean Anderson
Maxie Odean Anderson, 93 of Hilham, passed away on Nov. 26 at the Overton County Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held on Nov. 28 from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of
Celina with Bro. Dale Reagan and Bro. Jeremy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Thompson-Webb Cemetery. Pallbearers included: Joey Tidwell, Cody Tidwell, Stephen Breedlove, CJ Breedlove, Will Spillers and Tony Tidwell.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1925 in Cumberland County, Ky.
She was preceded in death by parents, Johnny Blakely and Mattie Bell Killmon
Blakely; and grandson, William Arms.
Surviving relatives include husband, P.J. Anderson; sons, Radford Tidwell and wife Carolyn of Celina, Joe Robert Arms and wife Jean of Joelton, Tenn., Willard Arms and
wife Mary of Livingston and Kenny Arms of Hilham; daughters, Geraldine Carter of Livingston and Charmia McLearran of Hilham; grandsons, Casey Breedlove and wife Shelia of Rickman, Stephen Breedlove and wife Christy of Gainesboro, Brandon Carter of Cape Coral, Fla., Tony Tidwell and wife Linda of Celina, Joey Tidwell and wife Laura of Celina and Justin Arms and wife Jamie of Gladeville, Tenn.; granddaughters: Tiffany Spillers and husband Wes of Cookeville, Melissa Christy and husband Daron of Pleasantview, Tenn. and Carolyn Hogue and husband Jason of Rickman; 16 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Bonzie O’Neal Guffey
Bonzie O’Neal Guffey, 79 of Celina, passed away at her residence on Nov. 27. Funeral Services were held on Nov. 30 at the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina. Interment followed in the Tinsley cemetery. Pallbearers included: Joseph Phillips, Chris McLearran, Jeremy McLearran, Jonathan Gilpatrick, Jordan Gilpatrick and Jesse Thompson. Jerry King and Michael Helm served as honorary pallbearers.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1939 in Celina.
She was preceded in death by parents, Haskell Jackson Adams and Allie Myrtle; four sisters; and two Brothers.
Surviving relatives include husband, Ralph A. Guffey of Celina; sons, Walter William McLearran of Celina and Billy Joe McLearran and wife Kathy of Celina; daughters, Allie Annette Gilpatrick and life companion Jack Keith of Burkesville, Ky. and Jeannie Anne Lafever and the late Richard Lafever of Livingston; sister, Eula Morene Adams Maxwell of Celina; 11
