Margie Crawford

Margie Crawford, 64 of Hestand, Ky., passed away on Sept. 20 at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Ky. in the company of her loving family. Funeral Services were held on Sept. 23 at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Elijah Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Donnie Strode, Lonnie Strode, Timmy Strode, Joseph Strode, Josh Smith and Tony Trobaugh served as active pallbearers.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1954 in Clay County. She was a garment factory worker and a caregiver for the elderly for many years, but found her greatest joy as a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer “Ray” and Ora Lee (Moss) Key; her first husband, Floyd Wayne Strode; infant son, Baby Wayne; brothers, Russell Lee Key and Gary Wayne Key; and sisters, Brenda Spears, Tammy Lynn Jones, and Linda Faye Key.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Roy Crawford of Hestand, Ky.; sons, Donnie Wayne Strode and wife, Chastity of Moss, Lonnie Wayne Strode and wife, Christian Burkesville, Ky., Tim Wayne Strode and wife, Stephanie of Summer Shade, Ky., Joseph Wayne Strode and wife, Danielle of Hestand, Ky., Josh Cornelius Smith and wife, Rena of Vernon, Ky. and Robert Lee Crawford and wife, Marsha of Westmoreland; daughter, Rebecca Ann Crump and husband, Brian of Bethpage; brothers, Jerry Ray Key, David Wayne Key, Terry Lee Key, Bobby Wayne Key, and Charlie Ray Key all of Celina; sisters, Barbara Ruth Likens of Moss and Mary Short of Celina; 15 grandchildren; and as well as a host of other family and friends also mourn her passing.

Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.



Frona Bea Ellis

Frona Bea Ellis, 95 of Hilham, passed away on Sept. 20 at Overton County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Livingston. Graveside services were held on Sept. 24 at the Doc Hall Cemetery with Joy Langford officiating and interment followed. Family and friends served as active pallbearers.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1923 in Clay County. She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker for her husband and children. She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ in the Baptist Ridge Community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ethel (Abney) Hall; husband, James Ellis; sons, Jimmy Thomas and James, JR.; daughter, Debbie Chambers; sisters, Opal Pennington and Nancy Garland; and brother, Johnson Hall.

Surviving relatives include her sons, Ronald Edward Ellis and Terry Wayne Ellis and wife, Janet all of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters, Margaret Wilson and Judy Huston both of Indianapolis, Ind; brother, Willie Hall of Livingston; sisters, Retha Pennington of Celina and Bessie Mobley of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
