Josephine (Tinsley) Copeland, 84 of Celina, passed away on June 12 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs surrounded by her family. Funeral services were held on June 15 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Ken Collins officiating. Interment followed at the Tinsley Cemetery. Wesley Copeland, Andrew Meadows, Joe Graves, Jacob Meadows, Gavin Silk, Gunnar Silk and Dakota McGee served as active pallbearers. Justin Graves, Haydyn McGee and William McGee and Kyle Silk served as honorary pallbearers.
She was born in Celina on May 3, 1934. Throughout her life she served in many roles but her most treasured roles were that of wife and mother. She spent 23 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Clay County Hospital and Nursing Home. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, quilting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lizzie (Dailey) Tinsley; devoted husband William A. Copeland, five brothers and four sisters.
Surviving relatives include her son, William Copeland and wife, Denise of Algood; daughters, Barbara Meadows and husband, Willie of Moss and Carolyn Silk and husband, Houston of Hermitage Springs; grandchildren, Jody Meadows and wife, Pam, Sarah Graves and husband, Tony, Jesse Meadows and wife, Rhonda, Suzanne Supernaw, Nick Silk, Sonny Silk and wife, Quianna, Christina McGee and husband, Steven and Wesley Copeland; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Kathy Poindexter and husband, Ronnie; as well as many nieces and nephew, other family and friends.
