Hazel Jean Harpe
Hazel Jean Harpe, 94 of of Burtchville, Mich. and formerly of Celina, passed away on March 16. Graveside services were held on March 18 at the McCalgon Cemetery with Noel Cherry officiating.
She was born on March 10, 1924 in Buckner, Ill. Throughout her life she served in many roles, but her most treasured roles were that of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer S. and Clotine L. (Davut) Brown; two husbands, Johnny F. Harpe and William H. Uhls.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Lennie Bumbalough and husband, Bob, Clotine Northam and husband, Ron and Wilma J. Bennett and husband, Mike all of Michigan; seven grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Perry William Slagle II
Perry William Slagle II, 32 of Celina passed away suddenly on March 10. The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to take place at a later date.
He was born on March 20, 1985. He was a graduate of Bluegrass Challenge Academy in Fort Knox, Ky. He was a member of the Pea Ridge Fire Department and East 52 Fire Department. His number 203 was retired from the Pea Ridge Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Carson Collins.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Caitlyn Slagle of Celina; mother, Tonya Jobe (Allen) of Celina; father Jeff Slagle of North Vernon, Ind.; siblings, Bryan Slagle (Emily) Christopher Jobe of Celina and Michael Moldon of Glasgow Ky.; grandparents, Carolyn and Doyle Metcalf of Richmond, Ind., Beulah Collins of North Vernon, Ind.; uncle, Clinton Metcalf of Hagerstown, Ind.; niece, Carolyn Slagle; step son, Hartly Gray; and many other family members and friends.
Maraman-Billings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
