Garry Wayne Langford
Garry Wayne Langford, 67 of the Baptist Ridge Community of Clay County, passed away Feb. 16 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral Services were held on Feb. 19 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Bilbrey and Joy Langford officiating. Interment followed at the McDonald Cemetery. Nick McLerran, James McLerran, Joe Donald Boles, Luther Boone, Junior Langford and Joe Robert Spivey served as active pallbearers while Estus Pennington, Ken Stevenson and Willard Boles were named honorary pallbearers.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1950 in the Baptist Ridge Community of Clay County. He was a very kind hardworking man who served many roles. After working for 22 years at Osh Kosh in Celina, he was afforded the pleasure of following his passion to paint and become desired by many for his impeccable skills.
He was preceded in death by parents, William Minor and Lizzie (Holt) Langford; brother, Douglas Bronstetter.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Sharon Langford of the Baptist Ridge Community of Clay County; son, Gary William Boles and wife, Emily of Celina; daughters, Martha Langford McLerran and husband, Nick of Moss and Anna Langford McLerran and husband, James of Rickman; sister, Joy Langford of the Baptist Ridge Community of Clay County; grandchildren, Exavier, Ezekial and Ezra Boles, Hunter, Joshua Benton, James Minor, Rilynn, Allie and James William McLerran; and a host of other friends and family.
Billie Edwin Collins
Billie Edwin Collins, 85 of Celina, passed away on Feb. 24 at the Celina Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held on Feb. 28 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland and Johnny West officiating. Interment followed at the Martin Cemetery. Jeff West, Cody Daniels, James Daniels, Cody Collins, William Marcum, Jason Hamilton, Randy Davis and Jacob Groce served as active pallbearers.
She was born on May 21, 1932 in Celina. She was a very kind hard-working woman who served in many roles. She was very committed to her community and students. She was an educator for 47 years for the Clay County Board of Education. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Celina Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by parents, Luke and Siddie (Parsons) Marcom; son, Mark Collins; and sister, Florence Ann “Curly” Butler.
Surviving relatives include sons, William Collins and wife, Georgia of Sparta and Luke Collins and wife, Angela of Celina; daughter, Patricia Collins of Celina; grandchildren, April, Tammy, Amy, Cody, Abbigail, Anna Rae, Allison and Adaya; great-grandchildren, Cody, James and Jacob; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Warren Bransford Arms
Warren Bransford Arms, 49 of Moss, passed away on Feb 27 at the Cumberland River Hospital. Funeral services were held March 2 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Dale Regan officiating. Interment followed in the John H. Stone Cemetery. Bobby Arnett, Steve Holt, Luke Sherrells, Rex Short, Matthew Arms and Jarrett Stephens served as active pallbearers and Mark Mabry was names honorary pallbearer.
He was born on April 25, 1968 in Tomkinsville, Ky. He was a very kind hard-working man with many talents. He was a simple man who loved his family, hunting, fishing and especially farming. He attended the Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Bransford and Josephine (Davis) Arms.
Surviving relatives include son, Christopher Arms of Cookeville; brothers, Walter Lee Arms and wife, Judy of Harriman, Tenn., Bobby Arms and wife, Margaret of Celina and Lester Arms and wife, Diane of Fulton, Mo.; sister, Rama Smith of Celina; nieces and nephews, Bethany Ellis, Walter Arms, Andrew Arms, Susan Arms, Sarah Arms, Matthew Arms, Leslie Arms and Mary Smith; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Dayton Mars Green, 84 of Celina, passed away on Feb. 23 at the Celina Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Stinson officiating. Interment followed at the Macedonia Cemetery. Joe Donald Bailey, Greg Meadows, Lynnie Gilbert, Larry McLerran, Todd Strong and Bobby Dan McCoin served as active pallbearers.
He was born on June 25, 1933 in Clay County. He was a very kind hard-working man who served in many roles. He worked at the owner of Celina Auto Sales for most of his adult life and also served in the United States Army. He was a Christian and a member of Macedonia Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Effie (Rich) Green.
Surviving relatives include wife, Louise Green of Moss; sons, Freddie Green of Celina and Gary Green and wife, Sherry of the Pea Ridge Community; sister, Geraldine Scoby of Bowling Green, Ky.; as well as many other family and friends.
