Alton Ross Roach

Alton Ross Roach, 82 of the Pea Ridge Community, passed away on Jan. 16 at the Cumberland River Hospital. Funeral services were held on Jan. 22 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Willie Kerr officiating.

He was born in Cumberland County, Ky. on Jan. 24, 1935. He served in many roles, but his most treasured roles were that of husband, father, Pa, brother and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie “Tommy” and Lora Ethel (Key) Roach; and brothers, Jessie “Tommy” and Billy Fay Roach.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Joyce Roach of the Pea Ridge Community; daughters, Donna Goodman and husband David and Tammy Capps and husband David, all of the Pea Ridge Community; brother, Jessie Roach, Jr. and wife, Jean of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Betty Louis Groce of Indianapolis, Ind., Elise Nicole Cecil and husband, Richard and Wanda Jean Mack and husband, Raymond all of Tuttle, Okla.; grandchildren, Richard Todd Riddle, Sonya Nicole May, Britany Lynn Huckeby, Winter Rischele Pruitt, and Cherokee Cheyenne Capps; great-grandchildren, Kenady, Addie, Landrey, Briar, Sylas, Samuel, Aiden and Caden; several cousins, nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Frances Clark Roach of Austin, TX; and many other family members and friends.

 

Betty Jo McMillan

Betty Jo McMillan, 71 of Mustang, Okla. and formerly of Celina passed away on Jan. 13 at the Canadian Valley Integris Hospital in Yukon, Okla. Memorial Services were held on Jan. 20 at the Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating. Interment followed at the Fitzgerald Cemetery.

She was born in Celina on Sept. 1, 1945. Throughout her life she served in many roles, but her most treasured roles were that of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was of the Southern Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everet and Georgia (Westmoreland) Langford; daughter, Diane McMillan; and her dog Riley.

Surviving relatives include her sons, Greg McMillan of Indialantic, Fla. and Ken McMillan and wife, Christina of Mustang, Okla.; brothers, Percy Langford of Smyrna and Ken Langford of Murfreesboro; sister, Margaret Kisman of Gosnell, Ark.; grandchildren, Kyle, Kody, Krysten and Braeden McMillan; and a host of other family and friends.

 

Lee Warren Reaves

Lee Warren Reaves, 81 of Red Boiling Springs and formerly of the Union Hill Community in Clay County passed away on Jan. 22 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Funeral Services were held on Jan. 25 from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Kenny Birdwell officiating. Interment followed in the Union Hill Cemetery. His family and friends served as pallbearers.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1936 in Waynesboro, Tenn. He was a factory worker for the former Osh Kosh in Hermitage Springs and Celina.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  James and Mabelle Vickery Reaves;

Surviving relatives include his wife of over 60 years, Shirley Brown; daughter, Melissa Cherry of Lafayette; granddaughter, Kayla Moss and her husband, Anthony of Lafayette; great-granddaughter, Paislee Knight; great-grandson, Deacon Moss; and sister, Lois Horton of Collinwood.

 

Joe Bennett Locke

Joe Bennett Locke, 73 of Celina passed away on Jan. 18 at the Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Graveside services were held on Jan. 21 at the Fitzgerald Cemetery with Greg Houchens officiating. Ronnie Robinson, Clay Rich, John Scott, Jason Locke, Jeff Locke, John Locke, Skylar Napier, Dewayne Craighead, James Hamilton, Lester Boles, Thomas Weaver and Junior Melton served as active pallbearers. Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1944 in Gainesboro. Throughout his life he served in many roles, but his most treasured roles were that of husband, father, brother and friend. He was a faithful member of the Riverside Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Sally (Chaffin) Locke; brothers, Jim and Billy Locke; and sister, Christine Locke.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Anna Ruth Locke of Celina; son, Joey Locke of Nashville; brother, Eugene Locke and wife, Ruth Ann of Cub Creek, Tenn.; sister, Louise Locke of Gainesboro; many nieces and nephews; and a multitude of other family and friends also mourn his passing.
