Garment Factory Worker
Eva Nell McLerran, 85 of Celina passed away on Dec. 20 at her residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Greg Houchens officiating. Interment followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Tony Daniels, Denny McLerran, Brad Mini, Alex McLerran, Larry McLerran and Michael Walker served as active pallbearers.
Eva Nell was born July 5, 1932 in Clay County. Eva Nell joined Amos McLerran in marriage on Oct. 17, 1954. She worked as a garment factory worker for most of her adult career but took the most satisfaction in serving as homemaker. She was a member of the Riverside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Hugh and Minnie Lou (Strong); brothers, Ed Fowler, Cecil and Paul Atchley; and sisters, Estelle Holt, Wilma Walker and Geraldine Copeland.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Amos McLerran of Celina; sons, Dennis McLerran of Moss and Dewayne McLerran and wife Andrea of Celina; daughter, Sandra Wood and companion Tony Daniels of Celina; grandchildren, Farrah Wood, Denny McLerran, Tata Mini and husband Brad, Chelsea McLerran, Alex McLerran and Brandi McLerran; great-grandchildren, Madison, Zack, Piper, Paisley and Colton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Upton-Hay Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
