Concerns about roadblocks at the four way intersection in the middle of downtown Celina prompted a lengthy discussion at the City of Celina meeting.
Mayor Joey Rich asked the aldermen, “What do you all think about it?” Alderman Buddy Thompson stated, “In my personal opinion, I would like to do away with them. I think they hurt business.” Mayor Rich replied, “I have heard a lot of people come to me, they are not upset about the charitable stuff, it is the other ones that are there.” Thompson stated, “The sad part is Joey, I think someone is going to get hurt. They have kids out there and those kids are running and ripping. (The situation) just doesn’t need to be.”
